  • DANUBE WINE CHALLENGE is a member of the prestigious World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions VINOFED.
  • It is held under the highest patronage of the International organisation of Vine & Wine, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Slovak Republic  and in cooperation with Slovakia Travel.
  • The competition is open to all wine producers, importers and distributors from all over the world.
  • This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of quality wines and strengthen their marketing potential locally and internationally.
  • The wines will be evaluated by renowned international wine experts who are members of tasting juries at prestigious international competitions: oenologists, sommeliers, merchants and distributors, wine journalists and critics, wine presenters. WHY PARTICIPATE IN THE DANUBE WINE CHALLENGE IWC 2025?

 

  • REGISTRATION ONLINE IS EASY AND INTUITIVE. Register Your wines by clicking on this link.
  • An interesting feature of our competition is the inclusion of the category "Orange wines" (white wines with maceration, officially recognized category by the OIV Resolution).
  • Since 2023, we have successfully added two new competition categories: Fruit wines (all other than grape) and Fortified Dessert Wines. This year we added another category “NoLow": low-alcohol and non-alcoholic (dealcoholized wines).
  • The wines will be awarded medals - Grand Gold (93 - 100 points), Gold (89 - 92,99 points), Silver (85 - 88,99 b) and Special Prizes: Prix VINOFED a.k.a. Champions in four categories of dry wines, Best Grüner Veltliner (dry still wine), Best Frankovka / Blaufränkisch (dry red still wine), Best wine collection and more.
  • NEW: all wines that score at least 85 points but cannot be awarded a medal due to the 30% OIV limit will get a quality certificate 'Seal of approval VINOFED’ For details of the awards, see here
  • The results will be published on our website, through the media, social networks and on the most visited wine search engine Wine-Searcher.com.
  • For winemakers who win at least one medal at our competition, we offer a unique opportunity to present their award-winning wines to the wine public and professionals at a series of public tastings "NEVINNE O VÍNE” (Innocent about wine). The first of them, associated with the award giving ceremony, will take place on 24 June 2025 in the Water Museum in Bratislava with the subtitle DANUBE WINE DAY 2025.
